Tavistock Fencing Club (Salle Lawrence)

SLFC Tavistock started in October 2009.  The club is closed for the summer and will re-open in September 2010. It has already been more popular than initially anticipated. Junior sessions and senior sessions are run alongside one another from 7-8pm on Wednesday evenings. The Junior class learn epee and has children aged 7-13 years in it and the senior class learn foil and is mostly made up of adults plus those over 13 years of age.

Fees are directly paid to Tavistock Sports College on the night and are:

Under 16’s- £2.50

                                              Over 16’s- £3.50 or if booked in blocks of 10 a 50p discount per sesson is applied.

There is no membership fee for this club at present but SLFC Tavistock fencers are welcome and encouraged to purchase club hoodies with their name and club on it and any other future team ware.

Format of the Sessions

7pm-7.10pm: Footwork (combined juniors and seniors)

7.10pm-7.20pm: Line lessons (juniors), pairs work learning new techniques or tactics (seniors)

7.20pm-7.40pm: Pairs work learning new technique or tactics (both juniors and seniors)

7.40pm- 8.00pm: Free fencing or ladder fencing.
